What is an AFI FEST Press Pass?
A Press Pass admits one person to all Festival screenings with the exception of Gala screenings, Tributes, and special screenings. A Press Pass will also grant you admittance to the Cinema Lounge.

How do I cover a Gala event, Tribute, or Special Screening?
Space is limited for these events and hard tickets are required. Please contact John Wildman to request a ticket to the ticketed events that you wish to cover.

Do I need a hard ticket or an AFI FEST Press Pass to cover red carpets?
Neither a hard ticket nor a pass is required for photographers or broadcast crews that would like to cover red carpets at AFI FEST. However, you must contact John Wildman to request a spot on red carpets.

Can I use my pass to bring a guest to a screening?
No, we're sorry, but space is limited.

How much does an AFI FEST Press Pass cost?
There is no charge. The only potential cost you might incur is parking.

Where do I park?
There are several options:

For the Press Center, Graumann's Chinese Theatre, Mann Chinese 6 Theatres, and AFI Main Box Office:
Hollywood & Highland Parking Garage, 6801 Hollywood Blvd., for $2 for up to 4 hours with restaurant or shopping validation; $10 all day max. You can also ride the AFI FEST Shuttle from Orange Court at Hollywood & Highland to ArcLight.

For Films at ArcLight:
ArcLight is directly adjacent to a seven-level parking structure. Self-park entrances are on Ivar to the west, on DeLongpre to the south and on Sunset, just east of the Cinerama Dome. ArcLight offers parking validation: Your first four hours are $2 with purchase of a regular cinema ticket, and only $2.50 with purchase of a film festival or other special event ticket. Parking is free for 1 hour with validation of a purchase in the cafe bar or gift shop. Maximum total validation is four hours. Regular rates apply after validation period, with a maximum total charge of $6.00 per visit. There are also other parking lots in the general vicinity; rates vary.

When and where can I pick up my AFI FEST Press Pass?
You may pick up your pass at the Press Center, located at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, beginning Wednesday, October 29. Details will be in your acceptance e-mail.

Does the AFI FEST Press Pass include access to AFM?
No. Each event requires a separate and distinct press pass.

Will photos be needed from accredited press?
No. However, you will be required to present a photo ID when picking up your credentials.

Will press have mailboxes during the Festival?
There will be no press mailboxes at the fest.

How do I get the latest news during the Festival?
If you register for AFI's On Screen e-mail newsletter you will get the latest information about the Festival as well as the e-mail version of the AFI FEST Daily News delivered to your inbox each day. Go to www.AFI.com/AFIFEST to subscribe. Also, please feel free to stop by the Press Office for news. We will try to help you with your stories in whatever way we can.

Where will I be able to conduct interviews during the Festival?
Accredited press members will have access to interview space located in the AFI FEST Press Center. In order to schedule interview space, please contact Shannon Dunn.

Where can I download images from films in the Festival?
During the Festival, all publicity materials, including film images, will be available for download on Image.net, as soon as they become available. All files will go live as of October 13. If you are not an Image.net user, please visit www.image.net to register. (See below for details.)

How do I get press kits, bios and film stills?
Image.net will have downloadable film stills as well as electronic press kits, as they become available. Accredited press will also have access to hard copies of press kits, bios, EPKs and screeners (when available) at the Festival Press Office.

How do I get access to Image.net?
There is no charge to the media to download images or press information from Image.net, however you must be registered:

  1. Go to http://www.image.net and click on "register."

  2. Fill in the registration form (this will take less than two minutes).

  3. When asked for a referral code, enter 6560.
